North versus North West Tennis

Tennis World, Saturday, November 26, (9am for) 9.30am

It’s on again, the titanic tribal tussle between rival regions. It’s bigger than Ben Hur, or at least Ben Lomond. The third iteration of North v North-West takes place late November when the Coasters come to Launceston.

Tennis North clubs are urged to tell their players they are invited to self-nominate for the various divisions.

Nominations close October 22. Teams will be announced November 5.

Where-Tennis World, Launceston

When- Saturday 26/11/21 9-9.30am

Cost- $10 per player (Regional T Shirt about $30 extra - some players will already have a t shirt).

Proposed divisions and formats:

A grade men - 8 member team

each player plays 2 singles (1 set to 9, tiebreak 8-8) and 2 doubles (1 set to 9, tiebreak 8-8).

A reserve men - 8 member team

same as A grade men

Ladies - 8 member team

doubles only. each match one set to 6 (tiebreak 5-5).

Each player plays 2 doubles matches.

Veterans 45+ 8 member team

same format as ladies

Veterans 60+ 8 member team

same format as ladies

Mixed doubles?

Junior boys 15 and under (same format as A grade)

Junior girls 15 and under (same format as A grade)

(Formats subject to change due to numbers and other variables)
